GIF to JPG
Turn GIF pictures into ordinary JPGs. A JPG is always a still picture, so for a moving GIF you choose which single frame to keep. Everything happens on your own device.

Moving GIFs
A JPG cannot move, so only one frame of a moving GIF is kept. The first frame is used unless you choose another; each result shows which frame it is and how many the GIF has. Choosing a frame other than the first downloads a picture engine of about 5 MB the first time, so that the frame is built exactly as it appears in the animation.

See-through areas
JPG has no see-through areas, so transparent parts of a GIF become white. To keep them, use GIF to PNG.
Questions
Why is my JPG larger than the GIF?
GIF suits simple graphics with few colours, and JPG suits photographs. A simple graphic can come out larger as a JPG. For graphics, PNG is often the better choice.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The work happens inside your web browser, on your own device. Before your file is opened, this page locks itself: from then on your browser refuses to let it fetch, upload or send anything at all.
