How to use it

1. Choose the size you want, and whether the background stays see-through.
2. Choose your SVG files, or drag them onto the box.
3. Download each PNG, or all of them together as a ZIP file.

Why convert an SVG?

An SVG is a drawing described as shapes rather than dots, so it stays sharp at any size. That makes it ideal for logos, but many programs, social networks and upload forms will not accept one. A PNG opens everywhere and keeps see-through areas, so it is the usual choice for a logo or icon.

Choosing the size

An SVG has no fixed number of pixels, so you choose how large the PNG should be: its own size, twice or four times as large, or a width you type. The drawing is drawn afresh at the size you choose, so edges stay crisp even when it is enlarged.

If an SVG gives no size at all, the browser standard of 300 by 150 pixels is used, and the result says so. Very large sizes are reduced to about 16.7 million pixels, the most that every current browser can save, and the result says so.

When the result can differ from the original

Most SVG files come out exactly as they appear in a browser, but not every one. Some SVGs refer to pictures, fonts or style sheets stored on the internet. For your privacy this page never fetches anything, so those parts are left out and an ordinary font is used instead; the result tells you when this has happened. Web page content placed inside an SVG cannot be turned into a picture by any browser, so it is left out too, and the result says so. Text in a font your device does not have is drawn in a similar font.

For safety, the SVG is only ever drawn as a picture. Any script inside it is never run.
