MP3 to FLAC

How to use it
- Choose your MP3 files, or drag them onto the box.
- Each one is converted to FLAC on your device.
- Download each FLAC file, or all of them together as a ZIP file.
This does not improve the sound
An MP3 has already had detail removed to make it small, and nothing can put that detail back. Converting an MP3 to FLAC keeps exactly the sound of the MP3, no better, in a file several times larger. The only good reason to do it is that a program, device or website insists on FLAC. If you want better quality, you need the original recording, a CD or a lossless download.
How it works
The FLAC files are made with the reference FLAC encoder from the Xiph.Org Foundation, running inside your browser, at 16-bit and the MP3's own sample rate.

Are my files uploaded?
No. The work happens inside your web browser, on your own device. Before your file is opened, this page locks itself: from then on your browser refuses to let it fetch, upload or send anything at all. You can check: once the page has loaded, switch off your internet connection and it will still work. How the lock works.
