Blur faces in a photo
Hide the faces in a photo before you post or share it, for example children at a school event or people in the background. The faces are found and blurred automatically, privately in your browser, and you can add or remove areas by hand. The photo is never uploaded.
How to use it
- Choose your photo, drag it onto the box, or paste one.
- The faces are found and blurred straight away. Drag over any that were missed, and tap a box to remove it.
- Choose blur, pixelate or a black box, then press Save picture and download the copy.
Check before you share
The face finder is good with faces that look towards the camera, but it can miss faces that are very small, turned away, partly hidden or in shadow. Always look over the picture before sharing it, and drag over any face it missed. You can also hide name badges, school logos, number plates and anything else the same way.
How strong is the blur?
The blur is strong by default, so that a face cannot be recognised. You can make it stronger or lighter with the slider, or choose pixelate or a black box instead. Each face is covered a little beyond its outline, to take in the hairline and chin.
Private, because it runs on your device
Most face blurring websites upload your photo to their computers. Here the face finder, a small AI model of about 6 MB, is downloaded to your device when the page opens and normally reused by your browser next time, and the page then locks itself so that it cannot send anything anywhere before you choose a photo. The finder only finds where faces are; it does not recognise who anybody is.
What is saved
A new copy of the photo with the faces hidden, drawn into the picture so that they cannot be undone. Location and camera details stored in the original photo are not carried over, and your original is left unchanged.

Are my files uploaded?
No. The work happens inside your web browser, on your own device. Before your file is opened, this page locks itself: from then on your browser refuses to let it fetch, upload or send anything at all.
