WAV to MP3
WAV files are large because nothing is compressed. Convert them to MP3 to make them a fraction of the size, ready to email or share. Everything happens on your own device.
How to use it
- Choose the MP3 quality.
- Choose your WAV files, or drag them onto the box.
- Download each MP3, or all of them together as a ZIP file.
How much smaller?
A CD-quality WAV file takes about 10 MB for every minute of sound. The same minute as an MP3 at 192 kbps takes about 1.4 MB, so the MP3 is roughly one seventh of the size.
MP3 does discard some detail to achieve that. At 192 kbps or above, most people cannot hear a difference on ordinary headphones or speakers.

Are my files uploaded?
No. The work happens inside your web browser, on your own device. You can check: once this page has loaded, switch off your internet connection and it will still work. The page also tells your browser to refuse to load anything from, or send anything to, any other website, so nothing can be sent elsewhere even by accident.
