How it works
Most browsers cannot open AIFF files, so this page reads them itself: ordinary AIFF files and the common AIFF-C variants hold plain, uncompressed sound, which is simple to read exactly. The rare compressed AIFF-C files cannot be read here, and the page says so if you choose one.
Keep your AIFF files
AIFF keeps every detail of the recording and MP3 does not. MP3s are ideal for sharing and for phones, but keep the AIFF files as your originals, because converting back cannot regain what MP3 left out.
