Which resolution?
72 dpi is enough for viewing on a screen and gives small files. 150 dpi suits most uses. 300 dpi is for printing, and produces much larger files. At 150 dpi, an A4 page becomes a picture of 1240 × 1754 pixels.
JPG or PNG?
JPG gives smaller files and suits pages with photographs. For pages that are mostly text or diagrams, PNG keeps edges sharper.
Questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. The work happens inside your web browser, on your own device. You can check: once this page has loaded, switch off your internet connection and it will still work. The page also tells your browser to refuse to load anything from, or send anything to, any other website, so nothing can be sent elsewhere even by accident.
